The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority, RSCVA, was established in 1959 as the Washoe County Fair and Recreation Board. The RSCVA acts as a marketing organization for the county to promote convention and tourism business.
Situated in the Sierra Nevada, just south of the Cascade Range, the Plumas is versatile in its land features, uncrowded, and enhanced by a pleasant climate. Sport utility vehicle owners take note! Plumas County has plenty of well-maintained, unpaved forest service roads that lead to lakes, look-outs and picnic sites. The roads access some 1.2 million acres of public land that can keep intrepid explorers happy for days on end.
In just two minutes you can help stop the proposed closure of over
1100 miles of roads and trails which are vital for recreation as well as
access for management to promote forest health in the Plumas National
Forest.
These trails lead to vistas, scenic byways, secluded lakes, creeks
and primitive camping. None of these trails have been proven to affect
water quality, habitats, or plants. However unless more people speak up
in favor of preserving these great trails it is likely they will be lost
forever.
